Our next production will be George Bernard Shaw's classic 1913 play Pygmalion. Based on Ovid's tale of the same name it tells the story of Henry Higgins, a professor of phonetics, who makes a bet with his friend Colonel Pickering that he can turn Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle into a refined society lady merely by teaching her how to speak with an upper class accent and training her in etiquette. In the process Higgins grows fonder of Eliza than he had expected... tickets available at Drill Hall 6.50- £8
