Brooksby
Melton College is a Further Education College situated in a mainly
agricultural area 15 miles south of Nottingham and 15 miles north
east of the City of Leicester. The College offers a wide range of
vocational and academic courses and is an Associate College of De
Montfort University. It has close links with local industry and
with the community.
Brooksby
Campus
The
Brooksby Campus is based on a 320-hectare country estate just six
miles from the thriving market town of Melton Mowbray and twelve
miles from the multi-cultural city of Leicester. On its Brooksby
Campus, the College offers a comprehensive range of landbased further
education provision including agriculture, animal care, countryside,
engineering and machinery, equine, fishery studies and aquatics,
horticulture and floristry, and higher education provision in Equine
Science and Sports Management, and Animal Science. Brooksby Melton
College is an Associate College of De Montfort University.
The
College has recently been recognised as a Centre of Vocational Excellence
for its Landbased Engineering and Machinery provision.
There
are excellent resources on campus which include a farm, equestrian
centre, animal care centre, aquatics unit, fish hatchery and lakes,
engineering workshops, plant centre, library and learning centre.
Beautiful mature gardens and ornamental lake provide a backdrop
for Brooksby Hall, the renowned commercial Conference and Banqueting
Centre, which holds regular weddings and events.

The
on-campus Stable Bar is a popular, lively student recreation area
which offers a fast food servery and has a licensed bar, which is
open in the evenings and holds regular themed nights. The Villiers
Restaurant provides hot and cold meals throughout the day and evenings.
Sporting
facilities include extensive playing fields, multi-gym and tennis
courts. Various team games are regularly played and there are numerous
special interest groups.
Melton
Campus
The Melton Mowbray Campus is located in the centre of a thriving
market town and offers an expanding curriculum of further education
in performing, visual and creative arts, business, law, accounting
and ICT, care and early years, GCSEs, AS Levels, A Levels and additional
qualifications, hair and beauty therapy, and engineering. Non-vocational
courses are available in languages, photography and pottery. The
College is renowned for its Higher Education provision in Performing
Arts. Brooksby Melton College is an Associate College of De Montfort
University.
At
the Melton Campus, there are excellent teaching and recreational
facilities, including a fully equipped 343-seat professional theatre
with computerised lighting and full sound system, dance studios,
TV studio, theatre workshop, laboratories and computer suites, library
and learning centre.
Student
accommodation is available in Melton Mowbray, either as a house
share with other students or we can provide details of local families
who take in students on a board and lodgings basis.
A
diverse range of modern catering outlets provides students with
snacks and meals throughout the day and evening. The Theatre bar
and lounge is open every evening and has a pool table and satellite
TV.
The
Leisure Centre offers indoor sports facilities including gymnastics,
badminton, squash, weight-training, netball, volleyball, racquetball,
hockey, bowls, short tennis, trampolining, five-a-side football
and table tennis. There is also a modern fitness studio, solarium
and sauna. Students are entitled to reduced rates for all sport
facilities.
There
are two on-campus childcare facilities, which are OFSTED registered,
and Early Years funded and are open from 8am – 5.30pm, 51
weeks of the year. Students are entitled to discounted rates. |
